ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, IL – Steven F. Rubin, DO, FACOFP dist., was elected as the President-Elect of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) for 2006-2007, during ACOFP’s 43rd Annual Convention & Exhibition in Grapevine, Texas on March 24, 2006. Prior to his election as President, Dr. Rubin served a one-year term as ACOFP’s Vice-President and many years on the ACOFP Board of Governors.

A Board-certified family physician since 1986, Dr. Rubin is a graduate of the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Rubin received his Board certification in 1987,recertified in 1995 and again recertified in 2004. Dr. Rubin rec eived the designation of ACOFP Fellow in 1992 and received the designation of Distinguished Fellow by ACOFP in the inaugural presentation of this award in 2004.

Dr. Rubin is currently an attending physician and has served as the Associate Director of the Department of Family Practice at The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Dr. Rubin is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Family Practice and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine, the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Rubin is currently the chairman of the Physician Advisory Board of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-School of Osteopathic Medicine and is a member of the Board of Governors of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
